My front living room is usually the first room to be decorated for Christmas. I've been holding my breath all month waiting to share it...well, all November and this month :) I have something super new (but old) in there and couldn't wait to decorate it for Christmas! First off though, here's the entry to room. I love these barn doors during this time of year, they are perfect to hang wreaths on.
Inside the room I added some garland along my table and flocked trees. You will soon notice that this room theme should probably be called "tree farm". For reals :) I may or may not have gone overboard.
You can get a little peak of my new addition in this picture. As you can tell, it's brown, so I moved my starburst mirror over the couch to balance it out. I also added my favorite deer burlap pillows in here next to a sweater lumbar pillow. I switched out my normal springy wreath on the blanket ladder to a snowflake.
Now, here it is! Here's my new mantel! I have been searching for something like this for years...years! Either they were too far away or way out of my budget. There were a lot that I liked, but didn't love. I didn't want to settle.
When I found this, I squealed. Like literally freaked out my kids. :) And the best part? The price! $85. Yeah. I know. :) I couldn't believe it either. I contacted the seller and picked it up like 2 hours later. There was no way I was going to let this one go. The pictures in the ad were horrible. So bad that I figured it was in bad shape and I would have to end up repairing and painting it. Which was fine since I was actually wanting a white mantel anyway. Then I saw it and knew there was no way I could paint it. It was perfect and beautiful. That being said, I really had to wrap my mind around decorating it. It threw off my plans a little :)
When I was going to paint it, I had plans on filling in the bottom empty space with wood slices and moss. Now that I'm not painting it, I'm not too sure if that's the right direction to go. So, for now, I placed one of my tree stump side tables in the middle with lots of my candlesticks on top.
As for the tree...err trees. The big one is decorated with silver and white balls and nothing else. I like the look of simplicity. This is one of the trees I let me kids decorate. So, this placement of all the balls is theirs and theirs alone :) I didn't move a single one. I think it's pretty good placement, if you ask me. Usually they are all in one line or section, and they did some pretty good distribution considering they are only 5 and 3 years old.
For my bench, along with the dough bowl I added my favorite winter cable knit blanket.
I then filled my dough bowl with mini flocked crystalized trees, greenery and pine cones.
If you know me, I love lots of layers of things and empty spaces bother me :) Sometimes I have to let them be, but sometimes I like to do what I can to fill them in. That's what this space was between the tree stump and tree. I decided to keep the candlesticks going down to the tree with help from books.
I still just love this view. It's been weird getting used to have a big brown blob in the middle here though, but I'm sure I'll get over it.
Here's a good look at all the trees I have in here besides the two on the opposite wall. See? Overboard :)
As always, I like to throw a picture of my pup because goodness knows either his ear or his tail were in about half of them anyway :)

I ended up adding this window frame and flocked grapevine wreath in place of the large sunburst mirror. I found this cute sign, and didn't realize how many trees I ended up adding here after all was said it done. I could seriously have my own faux Christmas tree farm :) I usually have stockings hanging up in here, but decided to not add them so I could show off the mantel even more.
