Summer is winding down, or so they say :) It's still 90 degrees here; I'll take that any day over snow. Fall is bittersweet for me. I love it, I really do, but I hate that right after it is winter. So, when fall comes, I'm always hesitant to grasp a hold of it. It seriously took a lot out of me to add pumpkins and fall decor throughout my house. But, it's done and just in time for this years Fall Home Tours hosted by Marty from A Stroll Thru Life. This week, I'm joining 30 other bloggers showcasing their homes for fall! They are full of inspiration so be sure to check out the entire line up at the bottom of this (long) post :) Ahead of me in the tours is 11 Magnolia Lane, go check how Amy decorated her new house for the fall if you haven't had a chance already!
Most years for my fall decor, I usually go pretty neutral. I decided to change up things just a tiny bit. Not a lot, but enough that it's different for me. I added pastels throughout my house is forms of pumpkins and flowers. Most of the decor though is whites, creams, and greens with hints of pink.
First stop on my tour is my front room.
This room is my "calming" room. Ha! It's the only room that stays pretty consistently clean. Which means, when the rest of my house is in chaos, I can walk by this room, breath in deeply, and calm myself. That being said, this room does have it's moments. It's a guest bedroom and kids toy room also.
I tuck away all the fake food and kitchen toys in this bench. My kids don't play with them that often anymore thankfully, but when they do, I just have them chuck the toys into the bench. Clean up is a breeze.
I got this dough bowl last year and haven't really felt like anything was "right" when decorating it before. Figures all I need was to add some pumpkins :)
I've been on a mad local search for a vintage mantel to replace this DIY one I made a few years ago. I love it in here and the character it gives, but I'm wanting something more. I'm hoping to find one in time for Christmas! This mantel got decorated with my normal tones of browns and whites. I love using books in my decor...you'll be able to see that throughout my house. In fact, last year I went a little crazy with the books in here (click here) :) I've been so tempted to do that again!
Here's a good look at the whole room. You'll also notice that when fall comes, all my blankets come out. I do have a lot out during the summer too...but, promise of cooler weather allows me to get even more :)
Next up in the tour is my dining room. I really wanted to add some navy buffalo check in here this year. I had plans to do it in my other rooms, but nothing felt right. So, it only stayed in here.
I usually keep my table pretty simple but during fall and Christmas, I like to fill it up. This year, I went with all white pumpkins and greenery. The larger pumpkins are sitting on wreaths.
I am loving these faux beams I have in here lately. I thought I would have taken them down now, but I'm still loving them...and my husband hasn't asked me to take them down yet either. So, I guess until then, I'll keep them up for a little bit :)
In here, I once again kept it pretty neutral with pops of green and pink. I am loving my new board and batten I put up in here. I feel like it lets me play around with color more. I know that's silly, but it totally helps :) ...obviously no color in this picture below, haha!
The wood on these shelves have made it a full year! I seriously can't bring myself to take them off. I might end up filling them even more if anything.
I decided to make a cut little reading area for my kids in the corner. This chair has always been here, but I decided to cozy it up a bit. Plus, the pup really likes the rug :)
My mantel just fell into place perfectly. Once again I focused on greens and books. I took off my wreath that usually hangs here to give it a fresher look.
Here are a couple of wider angles to get a feel for the room.

The stems in the vase are eucalyptus, pastel pink, green and white flowers along with some pine cones.
Along my sideboard, I added my curly stemmed pumpkins to my 3-tier tray.

I thought about adding something else besides the lavender to the frames, but opted to keep it like this. The more I touch them the more deteriorated they will get.

Welcome to my living room. I know that arches are apparently out and all straight lines are in, but I just love the arch into my living room. In here, I once again kept it pretty neutral with pops of green and pink. I am loving my new board and batten I put up in here. I feel like it lets me play around with color more. I chose to add faux pink flower stems and a green pumpkin on my ottoman. I just love how the color jumps off of the all white scheme.
Here are a couple of wider angles to get a feel for the room.
