Today I brought you pictures of our new living room in the ever-Scandinavian unfolding furnishing style. If I'm not careful, this will still be a blog for Scandinavian living style , so I am in love. Where once much more color and knick-knacks could be found, it is becoming purist, minimalist, modern . But not without losing the comfort factor, that's very important to both of us.

The new living room of Ohhh Mhhh-Steffi inspired me to create a  new personal dream home , so she elicited a huge "Ohhh !!!" from me . Not that I had anything against copying everything one-to-one, I think the living room in Scandinavian style on Steffi's blog is perfect . But you have to work with what you have and copying is not fun, because then my creativity is offended.

After an extended visit to Sostrene Grene , I finally had the man the shelves, after which I have been lurking since spring, abgeschatzt and immediately added several new Scandinavian decorative pieces. Did he not notice anyway anyway, he was too busy with the dragging of the shelves. I know how to do it, ladies .

I wish you a lot of pleasure in the chattering and maybe even a tiny bit of inspiration. If you also feel like Scandinavizing your living room (yes, I know that is not in the dictionary ;-)) , then I also have a few useful tips for you in petto :

The wall paint should radiate peace and restraint

As a basis, we have painted a wall in a light shade of gray by Alpina * with the supporting name "Poetry of Silence - Graceful Light Gray" . Now, not only dignity and poetic beauty are drawn into our living room, but above all peace and relaxation for the eye, the furniture and decoration speak for themselves and do not unnecessarily distract.

Create air with bright, light pieces of furniture and concentrate on a few optical centers

Also new and so light and airy that we immediately feel we can breathe better in the room: the beautiful shelves by Sostrene Grene , which are modeled after the string shelves * , but charge the account far less. With a few favorite books as well as beautiful simple pieces in Scandinavian deco style, they form together with the fireplace one of the two optical centers of the living room.

For all coolness and restraint - think of the heat

In order to not lose too much warmth and coziness due to the freshness and lightness of gray, shelves and decoration , I have slightly worked with fairy lights, decorative objects in warm wood colors as well as wicker baskets and baskets. The large wicker boxes under the shelves not only give the overall picture a great deal of naturalness, but are also extremely practical as a toy storage.

Airy and minimalist is nice - but you also need space to store

Also nice and practical: the storage bag with bear face by  Tellkiddo *,  in which we can also clear out in the evening flying toys quickly out of sight.

For large, multi-functional rooms - Create a visual separation for more clarity and comfort

Another innovation at HAMMA is the arrangement of sofa and armchairs. So far, the sofa was on the opposite wall of the TV and offered the best perspective on it, but we lacked a clear demarcation to the open dining area. After many ideas for a room divider , which were either rather expensive and / or labor-consuming, we came up with the idea one evening, but just put the sofa differently.

In the subsequent inspection, it has  Peng! made and we were immediately convinced. We like this arrangement incredibly well, because it not only separates the large living and dining room into clearly differentiated functional areas, but also because we have unexpectedly gained space while at the same time being more comfortable. Bomb .

If you want to treat yourself to a designer piece - keep an eye on practicability

Small anecdote about lessons that life teaches us: We bought the sofa when moving into the house 4 years ago at Westwing and were very happy about our first design sofa, which was not the furniture sweden. This decision is now bitterly regretted by us. Because we both like to eat and drink while relaxing on the sofa, but at the same time are not the fastest in stain removal, it is now littered with indelible stains. If we had an Ikea model, we would wash the covers several times or simply buy a new cover in case of need and the problem would have been solved.

Now we are sitting there with our great designer piece, which we have to besiege permanently with blankets, in order to endure the sight in any way. Beautiful is different. That was probably a grip in the toilet. This is one of the reasons why we are now trying hard not only to shop for aesthetics, but also for practicability. Otherwise you do not have much of a nice beloved piece.

Ensure a good balance between gray coolness and natural gentleness

Wicker baskets also make the overall impression of the different shades of gray of the sofa, armchairs, blankets and carpet more natural and warmer. Also a pleasant contrast: the hanging deco made of ropes, which I made last November as an Advent calendar and converted after Christmas to a simple wall decoration with branch. How it goes? Look here .

By the way, the table and the lamp are from our absolute favorite habitat . If the man and I do a round there, we could set up at least 5 houses with all the furniture and parts we like there. The photos on the net, in my opinion, the things do not look so nice, but visit a store, if you see one, it's worth it very much . And there are some snappers, as well as our table and the lamp.
