I'm going to start a new thing today. I have realized how much I do around my house and don't ever share it with you because it's not a DIY project. Today I say, so what? :) So, if it's not a DIY project, then what is it? Shopping. Yes. Shopping. I scour deals all day every day to find the perfect things for my house and they usually get little to no love on my blog. I might talk about them here or there during house tours, but that's it. I realized the past few weeks, that many of you want to know where I find my deals and where to get certain things. So, interspersed between my DIY projects, I'll be sharing posts like this one today. Things that I do that make a small...or significant change in my home that I would normally not share with you. I'll also do some posts about the best place to find certain things. As you may know, I'm a hoarder of all things rugs, pillows, throw blankets, lanterns, candlesticks, clocks, corbels etc...etc. :)As for today, I want to share with you these beauties.
Ever since I got my king size bed, I was wanting Euro pillows for it. I had the pillows, just no shams. I couldn't find any that I liked...until I found these beauties. They are so simple, a little frilly and definitely my style. Plus, the match my bedding from Crane and Canopy perfectly!
But, I couldn't leave well enough alone. I was playing musical chairs with my pillows the other day and fell in love with them out on my sectional.
I couldn't pull the trigger though. I needed 4 shams for the pillows. I found the ones on my bed from Bed, Bath and Beyond. But just for the 3 of them, it cost about $75. That was a hard pill to swallow already, and I had to justify the price up and down in my head. Normally, I would be like...no problem, I'll just make these. But, my time lately hasn't allowed for such luxuries :)
So, when I was browsing Amazon and found a pair of them for $35, I was like "sold!". But, I just bought one pair. Don't ask me why, I had 4 pillows. So, that pair just sat there for a couple of weeks, not being used. I mean, I totally could have put two on and left the other two not matching...but I didn't :) I finally pulled the trigger and bought the other pair. And I am so happy with this look.
So many people comment on how many pillows I have on my couch. I don't care. lol. When people come over, they just throw them on the ground or into a corner. I don't feel like they get in the way. Plus, with all these pillows, they make an amazing place to jump into for my kids. One of these days, maybe I'll get my white slipcovered sofa, but until then, this is my compromise :)
What do you think? Do you have a favorite farmhouse pillow?...or any pillow for that matter that looks great in almost every room in your house?
Here's another pillow I just can't live without and you'll probably see in one of my next upcoming posts! Seriously, THE perfect farmhouse pillow sham :)
